Science is the foundation for many great discoveries, most of the great fascinations of science started with simple thoughts of why certain things behave the way they do. The entire universe is like a puzzle that was designed and left for man to unravel. It is as if it is a child who is given a game of numbers that are mixed and he is expected to rearrange the numbers to ensure he gets them in the right order.
That is how the universe was created with lots of questions for man to look for the answers. Science is devoted to looking for answers to the numerous questions that have to do with the creation of the universe like man’s existence. There are other areas of great concern like finding solutions to some issues related to health that are plaguing humans. This and many more have preoccupied scientists looking for answers to the problems.
There is a thin line between them because both subjects are involved with critical thinking. Philosophy is a discipline that requires great thinking on a range of subjects to understand the reason behind certain actions of humans and animals. Most scientists started as philosophers, trying to look for solutions to problems. Aristotle was a great philosopher who made several outstanding findings, most of his works were published some of which provided a foundation for scientific discoveries. It is somewhat difficult for anyone to consider separating philosophy from science because both have a strong relationship such that they depend on each other. In philosophy, when you are thinking about a certain issue or pondering over a problem, you are said to be philosophizing.
This process is what gives birth to discoveries and inventions that will later become scientific discoveries. During the process of philosophizing, philosophers employ strong imaginative power to unravel mysteries surrounding the universe. In that process, they ponder over lots of issues which is what philosophy is all about, science comes in to transform the thoughts into reality through research and findings to establish the thoughts of the philosopher. Augmented reality is a good example of philosophical works where people imagine certain things and try to create them.
Every scientific discovery started with a question of why, what, and how. These questions were further given attention by trying to look for solutions. This is the relationship between science and philosophy, both disciplines depend on each other. They are both concerned with critical thinking to get answers to troubling questions. Both subjects question the existence of God by trying to provide an explanation for the creation of the physical world which they believe has a natural explanation.
